Challenge #236

This week we should tangle something unexpected.
For quit some time I'm planning to tangle my watering can.
So this was perfect for the challenge.

After I made the photo's I wanted to varnish the drawing, and what happened ...........  The drawing completely vanished.
The ink did not stick to the plastic of the watering can.

Unfortunately I made the photo first so I can show it here.

  1. O wat jammer, maar dan is het toch gelukkig dat je eerst een foto maakte? Dan kunnen we nu gelukkig zien hoe mooi jouw onverwacht leuke plek was om te tengelen.Prachtig.

  2. I'm so glad you got the photo before the pattern disappeared. It's so pretty. I had a similar problem when I drew on a slate and tried to varnish it. I re-did it and used a spray varnish, which worked well.

  4. It is so beautifully done. I was thinking you could print out your photo and then decoupage it on to the watering can?

  5. Beautiful! I like the idea of decoupaging a photo of it. It's quite stunning.

  6. Too bad. You could try using Identipen. I used that on a plastic coffee cup for my son a couple of months and it is still there. good luck!

  8. Oh dear - and it was so very lovely! I have had the same thing happen to me as I like to tangle on pebbles and stones. It's taken a long time to find the right 'finish' to seal the tangles, but I think probably the problem was the plastic in this case. Good thought to take the photo first!

  18. That is a very beautiful pattern. Are you going to try again? Prep the plastic with something or use a different varnish. Bet you can make it work.

  20. I love this and so sad it didn't last! But it reminds me of how the Tibetans make those absolutely gorgeous sand mandalas, and then just sweep them away! It reminds us to enjoy the process and live in the moment because once this moment has passed, it all passes away and leaves us ready for the next. Beautiful!
